CAMINITO DEL REY

The breath-taking Caminito del Rey is a suspended walkway, located between Ardales and Alora in the heart of the Andalucian countryside.
The total route of the walkway is 7.7km. The estimated time to complete the route, including the forest tracks to reach the area, is about 3-4 hours.

The King’s Walkway stretches high above natural surroundings that include reservoirs, mountains, gorges and valleys that are only accessible on foot. The tour runs along a path of more than 3km along the side of the mountain.

A spectacular canyon is situated 105m above the river, where dramatic landscapes include beautiful displays of wild flora and fauna. Footbridges run between mountains along with wooden passages and hanging bridges that keep the adrenalin pumping.
This unique path was originally built by King Alfonso Xlll, hence its name, to help the construction workers who were building the Guadalhorce reservoirs to access the mountains.

A decent level of fitness is necessary to complete the tour and the excursion is not suitable for people with limited mobility. Children over the age of 8 are welcome! Please wear comfortable clothes and footwear.
Once the excursion is over, we will return to the meeting place.
